Coastal festival
From Friday 6 to Sunday 8 December.
Every year, the Eni tribe in the south of Maré organizes its big coastal festival. An event dedicated to seafood, it's also an opportunity for many sports enthusiasts to take part in the Maré Trail.
The coastal festival is often held in early December in the small tribe of Eni in the Medu district. Also known as laxec, it's here that every year fishermen and seafaring clans from the south gather to show off their many seafood products. From snapper to "Wabebulu" parrotfish, lobster, shellfish and sea urchins, the market stalls are packed with fresh seafood. You'll also have the chance to savour them at the many food stalls around the site. Discover the south of Nengone, through a number of tourist and cultural activities such as boat excursions, scuba diving initiation, weaving initiation with the tribe's mothers or hiking along some of the trails opened for the occasion. The coastal festival is also associated with a major sporting event, the "Maré Air Caledonie Trail", which will be held for the 2nd time. 3 different routes are on offer for both amateur and experienced athletes. Between beaches, forests and cliffs, dear sporting friends, you'll be delighted to be able to cover the 3 southern tribes in this magnificent and exceptional setting, with the smiles of the Nengone people cheering you on along the way! The Maré Trail is organized in partnership with CHALLENGE ORGANISATION, who are also offering a number of special offers for the occasion. 3 days of fe...stivities in the Loyalty Islands style, with food stalls, handicrafts, a pasta party for our friends, tribal songs and dances, a musical springboard and discovery activities. A 3-night, 4-day package is available. Lire la suite
