In Wedrumel, discover Lifou's biggest underground cave.
Set out to discover a huge underground cave, once home to the ancestral people during the times of tribal wars. You can walk about 1 km into its interior. It takes about ten minutes of walking to reach the entrance. Limited to walkers in good shape to negotiate moving inside the cave. The walk takes around three hours.
Welcome supplement
- Difficult passage at the entrance of the cave. Bring mosquito repellent lotions, sunscreen, sunglasses, light but waterproof rain gear, a headgear (cap or hat), a camera, a small backpack, walking shoes (slippery floor in the cave), a bottle of water. Jeanne will provide you with a helmet and a lamp, essential in the cave.
