Warrior’s Leap
7 km from La Roche, legend has it that a warrior, cornered by his enemies, crossed with a single leap this seven-metre-wide ravine in the cliffs overlooking Allier Bay.The region east of La Roche is not protected by a lagoon and so the deeply carved cliffs fall steeply into the Pacific. As is the case at Warrior's Leap. Here, legend has it that Hnor, a warrior of the Si Hnathege clan, cornered by the men of the Si Gurewok clan, crossed with a single leap a 7 m wide ravine, and given their momentum, his surprised enemies, who were much less agile than Hnor, were dashed on the rocks 40 m below. The site, now secure, dominates the immense bay of Allier to the distant Cap Roussin.
